POST-IMPLANT CARE AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Just like with your natural teeth, the correct care of dental implants will allow you to use them for a long life.
It is important for you to apply the correct principles of care starting from the first day in accordance with the recommendations of your doctor, not to skip regular check-ups, for your health and comfort in the long term.
After Operation
Do not eat anything until the numbness passes, but after expelling the tampon, we can gently start consuming fluids.
Swelling may be expected in the surgical area. Apply an ice compress wrapped in a towel to the area, holding it for 3-5 minutes and pulling it off intermittently for the first 24 hours.
Avoid forcing your mouth open to see the operation area or licking the area.
Do not avoid brushing your teeth or implants from the first day. Hygiene is very important and you should brush the operation area gently. There should be no food residue on your stitches.
Avoid exercise and heavy physical activity.
First Week
Do not walk around in hot weather or stay away from heat sources such as stoves and radiators.
Never smoke or drink alcohol.
Brush your teeth carefully, without damaging the operation area, but without fail, 4 times a day: morning, noon, evening, and before going to bed.
You can use mouthwash or spray according to your doctor's recommendation.
Do not consume milk, dairy products or acidic drinks.
Take the medicines recommended by your doctor regularly. Do not use medicines that are not recommended by your doctor without consulting. Avoid using aspirin and similar medicines.
Choose high pillows that will keep your head higher than your body when sleeping.
After a week, visit your doctor to have your stitches removed.
During Recovery
Try to chew with the operated area, do not apply pressure to the area.
Eat soft foods, do not bite hard objects.
Do not consume your food too hot or too cold, make sure it is at room temperature.
Situations That May Require You to Call Your Doctor
If there is numbness in the operation area for more than 12 hours.
If bleeding lasts more than 48 hours and is heavy
If you have increasing pain and swelling that lasts more than 48 hours despite using medication, consult your physician.
Cleaning and Inspections
You can contribute to the longevity of your implants by cooperating with your doctor. Clean your prosthetic teeth on your implants without fail, just like your natural teeth.
Depending on the type of denture, the brushing techniques you will apply may vary. Do not neglect the recommended care procedures.
Be sure to keep to your check-up appointments and have your teeth and dentures checked to ensure they last a long time.
